Account Executive
You could be a recent graduate (with marketing, communications or business major) or have up to 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role. You must also have an understanding of key marketing principles and sponsorship, and have practical skills in project management, client service, business and creative writing, computer software (MS Office), research and presentation development.
You must have a good understanding of key marketing principles and sponsorship. You should be passionate, a strong team player and have a genuine interest in sports and entertainment marketing.
The Account Executive (AE) assumes responsibilities that really drive the day-to-day activities of specific client projects. You will play a key role in client service, idea generation and end to end delivery of major campaigns and events for some of Australia’s biggest and most progressive marketing clients.

Account Director
A fantastic opportunity has arisen within Octagon Australia to strengthen and grow their team with the appointment of a permanent Account Director to assist with the delivery of a number of exciting projects and events for its clients which are household names in the FMCG sector.
The Account Director is responsible for the strategic development and overall leadership of the allocated accounts. The role will have a high level of interaction with clients and is expected to manage the overall client relationship initiating and leading the sell-in and development of new programs to their clients.
You should have a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role with well developed skills in the ability to think analytically and strategically while contributing creatively, team management and project management direction. You will be able to demonstrate practical skills in detailed project and budget management, client service, business and creative writing, computer software (MS Office), research and presentation development.
You must have a thorough understanding of key marketing principles and sponsorship. You should be passionate, a strong team player and have a genuine interest in sports and entertainment marketing. The Octagon Marketing Internship is an 8-week (minimum) program based in our Sydney office that will introduce you to the world of sports and entertainment marketing in many different capacities. It is a full-time, fully involved, learning by doing internship program for the passionate, creative and focused individual pursuing a career in the world of sports and entertainment marketing. Octagon seeks talented and driven applicants to fill internship positions in the marketing division, assisting in a wide range of projects and activities. The program is limited in size to maximize industry exposure for each participant, providing a unique opportunity for work experience.
The program offers a compelling and insightful look into the sports marketing and entertainment industry. Interns will be introduced to the vast resources and capabilities of Octagon, and will work on a daily basis with the Marketing team. Throughout the course of the internship the successful applicant will have the ability to research and work on unique sponsorship opportunities, assist in the day to day operations of managing client programs, provide assistance on new business pitches, provide assistance on event properties and general administrative duties.
The Internship is an unpaid program, however travel assistance can be arranged.
Interns should have the following criteria:
- Passion for sports and entertainment
- Well presented
- Solid communication skills – both written and oral
- Demonstrate basic proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Have completed study in a sports or marketing related course and have a good understanding of the industry
