Out & About with XXXX GOLD over the June Long Weekend!

For its first appearance in the Sunshine State for 2012, the XXXX GOLD Retreat joined over 25,000 people in attending Brisbane’s biggest race day, the Stradbroke Cup at Eagle Farm Race Course.  With a trip to XXXX Island up for grabs, over 300 XXXX GOLD drinkers took to the Island Shuffleboard in the hope of being one of 12 qualifiers for the XXXX Island Challenge. Although only one lucky XXXX GOLD drinker walked away with the ultimate mates trip, another 235 fans gave themselves a chance for later success by entering the monthly draw through our Island iPad application. Another highlight of the day was our Gold Class sessions which saw 420 participants enjoying the on track action from the upper deck, accompanied by the XXXX Angels.    

The XXXX GOLD Container Bar headed to the Parkes Picnic Races in the central west of NSW. A mixed crowd of almost 4,000 locals and visitors enjoyed the unseasonably warm weather, soaking up plenty of action on & off track. The XXXX Container Bar Beer Garden was hugely popular with all the well healed punters, with 300 people crowding the area for the XXXX Island Shuffleboard Challenge Final.

The XXXX GOLD Heartland Container Bar had the pleasure of visiting the World's Greatest Pub Fest in Maryborough Queensland. This event sets the  standard for a good old fashioned hotel hop. The event is held in honour of the Australian hotel culture & sees fancy dressed event-goers spare no expense as they go all out for the major prize, an all expenses paid trip to Oktoberfest later in the year plus $1000. With 10,000 through the gates and with estimates of 300 playing the XXXX ISLAND SHUFFLBOARD & 2,000 through the beer garden area, the XXXX Container Bar was in the thick of the action. XXXX ISLAND trip winner & XXXX GOLD adorer, local Joe Podetti, was a deserved champion with his wife exclaiming "He has never won anything in his life!"

The XXXX Island Shuffleboard also made an appearance at the Coonamble Rodeo, one of the biggest Rodeos in the Southern Hemisphere. This two day event offered over $30,000 worth of prize money to those brave enough to mount a fully grown bull or bronco. XXXX Gold were the major sponsor of the event guaranteeing 23 year old Adam Baker a memorable day in and outside of the rodeo ring. He not only won the Ultimate Mates Trip Away to XXXX Island, he also broke the Coonamble team roping record with his brother Cal to remain national champion.
