O’Connor Hat-trick
Rugby Union sensation and Octagon client James O’Connor has starred in the Australian Barbarians draw against England in Perth on Tuesday night (8th June). At the age of 18, James become the second youngest player to appear for the Wallabies with an astonishing three try haul on his test debut. Two years down the track, James has yet again proved to be the future of Australian Rugby by scoring 25 out of 28 points for the Barbarians including a hat-trick of tries and four goals.James has put his best foot forward for team selection for Australia’s upcoming campaign of the Tr-Nations and Bledisloe Cup. Australian Coach Robbie Dean’s was extremely impressed with James’ dominance over the game, so much so that Deans appeared convinced of James’ performance and took him off the field after 48 minutes. Deans further stated after the match “I don’t think he could have done anymore”.
James turns immediate attention to serving Australia well in their upcoming Test Matches against England & Ireland over the next month. In the long term, James is focused on playing a pivotal role in Australia’s assault on the 2011 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand!
