Aussie surfing superstar Mitch Coleborn took out the Pro-Am division of the Volcom VQS Championships at Newport Beach, California over the weekend.
Mitch pocketed USD$10K for his trouble and will take this confidence boost into his next World Qualifying Series event in Brazil this week.
"I'm really stoked to be back on the winner's dias again" said Coleborn. "I've had a frustrating run with injury lately but I felt strong all weekend and the waves were fun, so I'm stoked". Coleborn has an increased competitive focus for 2010 in a bid to qualify for the ASP World Surfing Tour.

MARK Webber won his first race of the year today when he took advantage of his Red Bull team-mate and double champion Sebastian Vettel's gearbox problems to win the season-ending Brazilian Grand Prix.
