Octagon snares activation deal for King Gee
Pacific Brands' work wear brand, KingGee has appointed sports marketing agency, Octagon to activate its V8 Supercars sponsorship.
KingGee has been a signage partner of the V8s for sometime, but recently ramped up its relationship to include "at track" activation opportunities.
Octagon strategy director, Jamie Gilbert-Smith, said that while the signage deal had boosted KingGee's brand awareness in the V8 audience the company was now looking for a deeper engagement with V8 fans to drive sales.
As well as managing the at track activity for KingGee, Octagon will also manage its relationship with V8 Supercars series broadcaster Channel Seven.
Gilbert Smith said the company was currently developing a range of on-track activation concepts.
“We have some unique ideas that will approach the V8s in a different way to what the other sponsors are doing at the moment,” Gilbert-Smith said.
He said KingGee hoped to implement its strategy in the second half of the 2010 V8 Supercars season. KingGee is also a sponsor of the Paul Morris Racing V8 Supercars team.
